OBJECTIVES (WHO AND WHAT ARE SPECIFIC TARGETS TO OUR GOALS)
SELF-SUSTENANCE (RESOURCE MANAGEMENT)
Self-sustenance can be measured by the amount of dependence on government agencies, churches, and panhandling that The Oppressed require. Our first objective, therefore, seeks to obliterate the need to tap into these resources and depleting them, thus alleviating all agencies and organizations of the stressful and dehumanizing process of getting the help The Oppressed actually have to have in order to get back on their feet.
This first objective is to assist The Oppressed to become self-sustaining. Most people, if they had the resources, would be self-sustaining; therefore, resources received by The Organization shall be to create more resources that will help more people become and remain self-sustaining and less dependent on government agencies, churches, and panhandling.
The Organization anticipates addressing this objective through providing for recipients of this Organization a balance of housing, meals, transportation, recreation, etc. while training in a career, providing a back up career in the event of a change in industry or loss of employment in that industry until independent.
INDUSTRY (WILDERNESS SURVIVAL)
Industry can be measured by the amount of experience one seeks in a given field, hobby, or interest that can be useful as a backup career or trade. Our second objective, therefore, is to manifest industry for all who are a part of The Organization communities. Just because a person has become self-sustaining does not mean that the resources that make that possible will always be accessible; therefore, resources received by The Organization will be used for providing a means to access alternative resources and to assist SITPs in remaining self-sustaining should such resources disappear or become depleted for whatever reason. Keeping communities of the SIT Program active and industrious will meet this objective. In a sense, the industrious aspect of the program involves wilderness survival and alternative resource management training, an example would be the stove I made when we were homeless and on which my wife and I had the best meals in all the mountains housing the homeless in Victorville.
This second objective seeks to obliterate the consequences of unemployment or resource depletion that often leads to homelessness.
The Organization anticipates addressing this objective through providing an environment and a sustainable economy where the recipient of the SIT Program continually acquires, develops, and expands valuable leadership and survival skills that can be useful to his community and that may even act as a backup career or trade in the event of natural disasters.
THRIFTINESS (MONEY MANAGEMENT)
Thriftiness can be measured by how much money is left at the end of the month versus how much month is left at the end of the money. Our third objective, therefore, is to develop habits that impose budgeting and frugality for the duration of time that SITPs take part in the SIT Program. Each SITP shall be required to engage in on hands training by assisting with the budgets of all levels of The Organization, thus making The Organization vulnerable to its participants as owners of the mission goals and objectives.
Our third objective seeks to provide training in budgeting, to increase awareness of spending habits, and to help participant differentiate between wants and needs.
Many people deplete their resources due to: bad spending habits; a lack of training or education; or unforeseen and unfortunate financial disasters for whatever reason; and for the most part, insufficient income to sustain them until the next income becomes available thus forcing them into a credit basis that only puts them deeper in debt. Therefore, The Organization anticipates addressing this objective through providing for program recipients of The Organization financial counseling from experts who are qualified to provide such training and by providing training for SITPs in resource consultation that will initially require the hiring of financial counselors and educators toward certification for all SITPs to become financial counselors.
TRAINING PARTICIPANTS OF THE SIT PROGRAM TO TRAIN OTHERS IN THE ABOVE OBJECTIVES (PEER-TO-PEER INTERACTION)
Our fourth objective is to train those who have been successfully helped by our SIT Program to help others to do the same. In order to remain beneficiaries of grants, future assistance, and other blessings of The Organization, SITPs who have gone through the three previously mentioned aspects of the SIT Program above will be required to train others to be self-sustaining, industrious, and thrift as well. Resources received by The Organization will assist in providing the tools necessary to make this an ongoing process.
