EXAMPLE 3, EQUAL PROTECTION OF THE LAW

In order to receive the paperwork necessary to get back on your feet such as the Notices of Action from DPSS from which we receive assistance and in order for organizations to reach you, some form of communication is required if the homeless are to get back on their feet. Try getting a United States Postal Service box for any length of time – one year or six months, cash on the barrel when you do not have a verifiable residential address. You will discover that postal service companies including the USPS violate the 14th Amendment (see Appendix Five, page 74).

In order to acquire a post office box, you must show proof of residency in the local community. How can you have equal protection under the laws if you are being discriminated against in everything else? Try registering to vote without a mailing address. There has not been any due process of law to my understanding that allows such citizens to be deprived of the life (getting back on one’s feet), liberty (having the same privilege to receive mail, work, shop, sleep, relieve oneself, vote, etc.), or property (P.O. Box or cell phone) that comes from having a place to receive communications. I was so angry with the California Rosemead United States Post Office that I not only displayed my rage, I also called Washington DC and spoke with the Post Master General, of course after speaking with all his representatives first. I did get satisfaction for a while, and, due to the nature of the call, I am most certain that the Post Master General will remember our telephone conversation. I guess you can say that I went postal on them.
